Expertise

Dr. Shilts' research interests concentrate on the development and evaluation of community-based nutrition interventions applying “guided” goal setting. Additionally, she collaborates on the design and validation of dietary assessment tools for audiences with limited-literacy.  Current projects include testing the feasibility of a telenutrition intervention in a rural Native American community and the development and simultaneous validation of a food and physical activity behavior checklist in Spanish and English.
