Expertise

I am an Assistant Professor in the College of Education at Sacramento State, where I work mostly with pre-service teachers and bilingual teacher candidates. I hold an M.A. in Applied Linguistics from the UNAM in Mexico City and a PhD in Linguistics from the University of Chicago. I am especially interested in multilingualism, language reclamation, and language justice, and have teaching experience at elementary, middle school, high school, and university levels.
