Expertise

My research brings together transgender studies and critical legal studies to examine how racial formations, structures of class and citizenship, and immigration status are central to the category of transgender. Both my teaching and research draw on transnational feminist studies and queer theory to consider the role of gender and sexuality in histories of U.S. racialized nation and empire.
