Dr. Abah's research focuses on healthy aging among underserved populations, with an emphasis on digital inclusion, intergenerational engagement, and community-based interventions that improve the health and well-being of older adults. She integrates research, teaching, and community partnerships to develop evidence-based programs that address health disparities, promote preventive health, and support justice-involved and other vulnerable aging populations. Her work advances interdisciplinary collaboration at the intersection of aging, public health, and social justice.
Dr. Abah also conducts program evaluation research on restorative justice and community health initiatives that address social determinants of health and improve outcomes for vulnerable, incarcerated, and justice-involved populations—individuals whose health and social conditions are affected by their interactions with the criminal justice system.
