Expertise

I am a soil ecologist studying how land management practices shape soil health and ecosystem function. My research focuses on the effects of soil amendments such as compost and biochar on nutrient cycling, soil organic matter stability, and greenhouse gas emissions. I also investigate the impacts of wildfire, pyrogenic carbon, and cultural fire stewardship on soil systems. My work integrates ecological theory with applied research to support sustainable agriculture and forest resilience.
