Abstract

Asian American history Zines Sacramento communities Asian American Studies COVID-19 Anti-Asian violence Asian American activism Ethnic Studies

Students in Introduction to Asian American Studies collaborate to produce short magazines or "Zines" related to the Asian American community. Each zine includes a history section; a community collage and reflection; an interview with a member of the Asian American community; a section on current events related to Asian Americans; and original student art.

"This Zine is to focus on a war that has happened under the radar and away from the popular eye. In spite of the odds and all that has been thrown their direction, Asian immigrants and their descendants have been steadfast. Through their eyes, we can discover what holds them together through this war. An unsung war." -- from Introduction.
