Abstract

Asian American history Zines Sacramento communities Asian American studies COVID-19 Anti-Asian violence Asian American activism Ethnic Studies

Students in Introduction to Asian American Studies collaborate to produce short magazines or "Zines" related to the Asian American community. Each zine includes a history section; a community collage and reflection; an interview with a member of the Asian American community; a section on current events related to Asian Americans; and original student art.

"The goal of this Zine is to explore different information about the Asian American community, with a focus on reasons for discrimination against their community, such as stereotypes surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. The Zine also expresses methods for limiting such discrimination against Asian Americans." -- from About Us.
