Abstract
Authentic writing experiences where students can discover and enjoy the everyday literacies they bring to the classroom can be rare within formal education spaces, but last semester we partnered 4th graders and university students in a letter exchange at the end of which one of the university students reflected: “Once I told her we could write in Spanish to one another, it was as if I could see her face light up through the letter.”
