Abstract
Is there really a need to make the case for creativity and innovation in organizations? In today's context of globalized competition, shortened product cycles, sustained scientific and technological progress, and entrepreneurial venturing, the capacity for creativity and innovation has become a key strategic competitive advantage. It is therefore essential for organizational leaders to understand how to hone and maintain this skill in their employees. While there has been considerable research on creativity at the individual level of analysis, research on leadership and creativity is more limited. Yet, the literature on the topic seems to offer a consensus on how leaders should handle creative people.
