Abstract
The main focus of the book is on the thitd candidate, New York Senator Robert F. Kennedy, who knew his chances of securing the nomination were slim but showed his commitment to connecting with Indiana's voters through his tenacity and long hours of hard work. Boomhower has unearthed some rare quotations from Kennedy that are not readily found, such as RFK's remarks about the unfair press coverage the Pulliam papers were giving him: "I've been here two weeks, and I've never seen a worse newspaper," he said (p. 99) And RFK's famous tête-à-tête with Indiana medical students Boomhower covers well, which clearly has relevance to the ongoing debate about health care in America.
