Abstract
The Transportation Asset Management System (TAMS) is a system which utilizes mobile devices to collect, manage, and update transportation asset data in the field. TAMS front-end was developed as mobile apps for multiple platforms (Android and iOS) providing the capability to collect and edit spatial and attribute information for transportation related assets. The back-end system was developed to manage user accounts, maintain security and integrity of the data collection process, provide the ability to synchronize data collected by multiple users, and exporting data into multiple formats for use outside of TAMS. The development of TAMS provides a cost-effective and efficient system for transportation agencies and professionals to collect new data and update existing database.
