Abstract
Art is inherently rhetorical in that art can constitute an experience in various ways (Dewey, 1934). In that regard, protest art is rhetorical in nature and allows the artist to voice the need for transformation and revolution. Defined through Langer's (1953) theory of the presentational, visual protest posters from The Women of Judrez Demand Justice (March 2003) exhibition are analyzed through a generic method of analysis. This research will explore the relationship between social change and protest art, specifically through an examination of the Judrez situation and the posters produced in protest of the murders.
