Abstract
In the present technological landscape, where global connectivity is facilitated by the internet, access to the internet has become an essential requirement for those who possess electronic devices, regardless of their geographical location. Ensuring a continuous internet connection for every device is of utmost importance. It would make things easier if there is a way to know where exactly one might get good access to the world wide web as it is popularly called, without any disruptions. If there is an interface that has a map displaying multiple locations and, in those locations details about the Wi-Fi modems will give users an idea of what those locations has to offer and can find out any drawbacks persist at those locations. Going one step further, using the python libraries to process the historical data and draw meaningful insights ahead will be even more beneficial [1]. The application aims to assist users to understand where internet is accessible and who is the provider of that internet from this application. The project uses datasets from public data sources. One of such data sources is NYC public Wi-Fi hotspot location dataset [2]. The dataset comprises of access points across New York City spread across multiple boroughs. These access points are presented on the dashboard with insights into each city. Each city has been given its own screens and insights are drawn for each one of them and this report provides comparisons between different metrics from different boroughs.
