Abstract
Nationwide approximately 70% of students will go on to pursue some type of post-secondary schooling within two years after completing high school but approximately half of those students will not complete their degree program within a six year time span. Outdoor Orientation Programs statistically have the greatest potential to build lasting social support systems raise retention rates, increase GPA, increase relationships building, and increase social awareness. The purpose of this project is to create an Outdoor Orientation Program for freshman and transfer students at the California State University, Sacramento. This project includes a comprehensive manual for the W.I.L.D. New Student Orientation. It was designed as an optional supplement to the university sponsored orientation programming.
