Abstract
With urbanization and the increasing development of industries, urban cities are developing rapidly, and the previously laid-out architecture for the cities cannot cope with the urbanization. Many cities face problems and need more analysis and prediction to sustain their growth. New cities are emerging and becoming hubs for industries, residences, and other developments. Also, with the growing population, the need for proper planning and expansion of urban areas is ever-increasing. While urban planners need help to analyze such a large amount of data to make informed decisions, Data Visualization makes it much more manageable. Data Visualization is a field that deals with the representation of data and gaining insights from it with minimal effort to the reader. By analyzing extensive data, we can draw patterns and valuable insights about the city’s problems and predict which areas might need improvement if further growth occurs. The VAST Dataset has been used in the project for visualizing the city’s data, which contains the data on the city Engagement in Ohio. The dataset contains information collected from about 1000 representative data, the places they visit, their spending, building information, travel logs, and other things. Rather than using the raw data analysis, it would be better to use visual context for clear understanding. This was made possible by Data wrangling. Modifying the dataset by data handling tools allows us to understand and draw insights from them. I have used Pandas to format and structure the datasets based on visual plotting requirements.
We can make informed decisions by extracting value from large amounts of data. This project aims to show which aspects of the city may need improvements and allocate resources effectively to create a better quality of life. Giving a budget for improvement without proper analysis leads to the wastage of resources. Data visualization software can easily recognize patterns, which presents information graphically. Data visualization tools provide multiple perspectives and provide support decision-makers with graphical representations. Gathering data about the city and analyzing and presenting the information visually will help to plan the development needed accordingly and cost-effectively.
