Abstract
Vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication is a vehicular communication technology where information is passed from a vehicle to any entity that may affect a vehicle and vice versa. V2X communication is being implemented to improve the safety by increasing the communication between two or more vehicles. This strategy can be implemented by combining it with other smart strategies to manage traffic by making use of vehicle sensors and navigation technologies. Microsimulation can provide invaluable insights into the design and implementation of such strategies. This methodology is used to analyze the freeway accidents with the help of simulation models to calculate the time of collision. In this project, we propose a V2X based Collision Avoidance (CA) algorithm. We use the Simulation of Urban Mobility (SUMO) simulator in this project to implement the proposed algorithm. Our results indicate that the proposed techniques can improve traffic safety and minimize collisions. Changes are made in the simulation models to get better time of collision results, which ensure the safety of vehicles. Our results indicate that the proposed techniques reduce time-to-Collison and improve traffic safety.
