Abstract
This project presents a policies and procedures guide to lead California Department of Rehabilitation (DOR) counselors through the process of becoming effective Transitional Partners Program (TPP) counselors and team members. The guide outlines and explains the TPP policies and procedures that will be useful to new counselors when they are assigned to the TPP program. The guide provides the Capitol Mall DOR TPP counselors with information regarding the TPP contract agreement, enrollment documentation, TPP policies, procedures, DOR regulations, as well as the roles of key members of the TPP team. The information in the guide will prepare the counselors to effectively communicate with all TPP team members and assist the transitional students in their transition from high school into adult life. Supporting research material was gathered through several resources including: government publications, journals, literature, academic textbooks, state and federal government websites, and personal interviews with rehabilitation counselors and supervisors.
