Abstract
A vital issue of Latino students not seeking a higher education is that Latino parents are unaware of the steps to take to support their children attending a college or university. From multiple conversations with family members, students in the community, and parents the researcher decided to create a curriculum of informational pláticas to be presented to Latino parents in the community. In creating the pláticas, the researcher integrated cultural capital and funds of knowledge as means for Latino parents to recognize the strengths they have in supporting their children in career choices. The goal of this project was to create a set of pláticas as means to inform Latino parents of the steps necessary to support their children in reaching their career and education goals.
