Abstract
The topic of this study is the political role of the United Nations in the birth and survival of the Republic of Korea. The political role of the United Nations in this topic is limited to the role of the United Nations General Assembly and its commissions on Korea in facilitating the independence and unification of North and South Korea. The military aspect of the United Nations functions is excluded.
