Abstract
The staff of the North Central Information Center (NCIC) of the California Historic Resources Information System (CHRIS) is nearing the end of the process of digitizing the NCIC’s inventory of cultural resource records and survey reports. The completion of the digitization of cultural resources data entails many advantages for both the clients and for the CHRIS itself, but it also necessitates considerations of security, quality control, control of access, and the future of the CHRIS facilities.
