Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine methods for improving the effective use of engineers. Because it was believed that improved utilization could he accomplished by reducing the time engineers were spending on routine,nonengineering activities, the project specifically was to consist of ( 1) measuring the time being spent by engineers on the various activities in which they were normally engaged, and (2) analyzing this information in order to, develop methods for increasing the time that engineers would have available to spend on true-engineering activities.
