Abstract
Statement of Problem
Unlike decades past, most college faculty in the U.S. are contingent faculty, not on tenure track contracts. This systemic shift has created a tiered faculty system in higher education which causes many to lead precarious lives.
Sources of Data
Ten blogs written by people with experience in adjunct work were found on or through the website www.adjunctnation.com.
Conclusions Reached
Evidence supporting Tokumitsu’s (2015) Do What You Love framework was found, with many adjunct lecturers reporting precarious working conditions, love for their field of work, and hope for future job security and economic stability within academia.
