Abstract
Information pertaining to aboriginal human ecology in California is scant and of a fragmentary nature, often being scattered throughout voluminous reports. In such writings there has been little attempt to correlate ecological factors with other findings; in the study presented here, the natural resources of a hunting-gathering society were studied in an endeavor to determine some of their relationships to the former Indian occupants. The area is in the northern part of the Sierra Nevada in Northern California.
