Abstract
Vast challenge is an annual international data analysis competition organized by the IEEEVisualization Conference. The challenge revolves around finding illicit/illegal activities
happening around the Oceanus region. The challenge includes a Grand challenge and 3-
mini challenges which focuses on different aspects of the dataset provided in the challenge.
For the year 2024, the challenge is to analyze complex dataset and answer certain set of
questions that helps in identifying organizations and people involved in these activities.
The goal is that the analyst at the Fisheye International, non-profit organization aims at
identifying and prevent illegal fishing activities in the Oceanus region. According to their
analysis a company called South-Sea Food Express Corp has been involved in these illicit
activities. Fisheye wants to better understand the pattern in which the organizations are

carrying out these illegal activities and identify with any other organization colluding
with South Sea Food Express Corp.
