Abstract
This collection of mainly free verse poems offers a close examination of what it means for us as individuals to be aware of the world around us and how we come to develop a perception that is uniquely our own, particularly in regards to the people and places that have shaped us for better or worse. These poems are about observing the smaller moments that we tend to overlook at first glance, and how they enable us to find pieces of ourselves in different aspects of our surroundings. They remind us that although we may feel small or alone at times, compassion and understanding are near if we only look.
