Abstract
The project is conducting a System Impact Study (SIS) on a new 30 MW solar project that will be integrated with the original system. The intent of the SIS is to determine the impacts associated with connection of the subject generation interconnection project to the network at specified location and determining the appropriate mitigation plan. The sources of data used throughout the report is mainly from various software’s that were used to conduct the analysis, also from multiple IEEE published reports that helped clarify some uncertainties. The study found no thermal overloads under normal and emergency conditions with the proposed project. However, voltage issues were found and caused by the project due to the long generation tie-line. The interconnection customer is responsible for the network upgrades.
