Abstract
The purpose of this study was to assess the level of knowledge and awareness of the bio-psycho-social issues concerning combat veterans, with the attitudes and values of MSW II students on the need for and importance of including this content in the curriculum. This study was an explorative, quantitative, descriptive design, with a sample of (N=91) students that were surveyed. Results found that there was minimal content in the current curriculum, and an overwhelming majority of students reported that CSUS should offer an elective that specifically addressed the bio-psycho-social issues affecting veterans. A majority of students reported that they would enroll in such a course. A vast majority of students expressed interest in providing clinical social work services and case management to veterans and military service members.
