Abstract
This thesis examined seasonality of property and violent crimes in Sacramento County over a ten-year period, January 2011-December 2020. Data were collected from a public database made available by the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office. Spatial analysis was conducted in this study to determine if seasonality was present. Findings showed that seasonality is not present in Sacramento County but rather crime remained consistent in hot spots year-round. Future research efforts in Sacramento County should be directed toward specific hot spots versus the entire county.
