Abstract
This study is an exploratory study to get an understanding of what kind of knowledge, views and perceptions graduate students in the Division of Social Work at California State University, Sacramento have towards undocumented immigrant students. The study used a mixed method, both quantitative and qualitative, survey questionnaire. This design allowed for flexibility, adaptability and provided the groundwork for future studies. A convenience sample of first and second year practice classes were selected from the Division of Social Work at California State University, Sacramento. There was a total of three participating graduate practice classes and a total of forty-one graduate students. The statistical analysis showed that social work graduate students at California State University, Sacramento have knowledge of undocumented immigrants, but lack the knowledge of services available to this population. Implications for social work practice were discussed, as well as recommendations for future research and limitations that the researchers faced.
