Statement of Collaboration
Elizabeth Crain and Sherry Jankans worked in collaboration to produce a project to be used as a parent/family guide for transition services.
Statement of the Problem
Many parents who have children with disabilities do not know what transition services are and are unaware of best practice concerning the services their children are entitled to under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
Sources of Data
Data was obtained using a Literature Review to research current issues and best practices for effective transition planning and transition services.
Conclusions Reached
Parents can better advocates for appropriate transition services for their children with disabilities when they become better educated on what transition services are and best practices for transition planning and implementation of services.
