Abstract
The purpose of this project is the development of a Spanish language informational handbook guide for school districts and teachers to pass on to families of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder whose primary language is Spanish. Due to the lack of availability of Spanish language information for families of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders, this author developed this informational guide that specifically focuses on intervention methods for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder using a variety of research based approaches, primarily focusing on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles. This project was developed to help parents, special education and general education teachers seeking to select appropriate intervention methods for each individual child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). First, it is designed to meet the needs of families and educators with the language barrier when communicating about the child with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Second, it is intended to further support the families in providing further information about the research based approaches using the most recent interventions developed for successful treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorder.
