Abstract
Integrating internet-based technology into academia is not a new struggle, but a more effective integration is needed to stay viable to incoming students. This study attempts to integrate internet-based technology into a section of English 1X, a peer workshop adjunct class, and asks if a technologically-integrated setting will yield responses as effective as those generated traditionally. The study finds that internet-based methods of response are as effective as those generated traditionally. Based on the results, suggestions are made to broaden the scope of such integration in order to verify the results and to engage students’ methods of meaning-making and communication more fully.
