Abstract
Students facing housing, food, and health insecurity is a growing problem. University allocated resources often fail to meet the growing needs of the students. A major part of the problem is not a lack of available information, but the obfuscated path to it. Rebound presents an inclusive, one-stop assistance portal for unhoused students. Rebound provides students a way to connect with social workers, access government resources, and gain information about the entire process of being rehoused. Rebound explores an interesting HCI problem: designing for the diverse and growing demographic of unhoused youth. Rebound uses Natural Language Processing, Large Language Models (LLMs) and Web Application Development to present a platform that makes it easy to seek help and navigate through the bureaucracies involved.
