Abstract
Professional hospice caregivers encounter death on a regular basis; as such, it is important to consider their death attitudes and purpose in life. The purpose of this research is to explore the relationship between professional hospice caregivers’ death attitudes and purpose in life. This quantitative survey research study investigated this in ninety-six professional hospice caregivers in the United States. The sampling method was a non-probability convenience sample. The results from the study found that there are several significant relationships between fear of death and dying and purpose in life in hospice caregivers. Implications for social work practice and policy are discussed.
