Abstract
This research study explored the relationship between perspectives of rural community providers and access to mental health services for mental health consumers. A total of 70 participants were surveyed in an identified rural community. Participants provided their perspectives regarding mental health and access to mental health treatment. Snowball sampling and convenience sampling were the methods used. The design of this study was a quantitative cross-sectional survey research design. An analysis was conducted through the use of chi-square tests, which indicated significance between the two variables, with little variation within the finds. Implications for social work practice and policy, additional research, and recommendations were presented.
