Abstract
This study explored the perspectives of professionals on deportation threats contributing to successes and failures in regards to education, health, services, and legal issues faced by undocumented Latino immigrants. This qualitative exploratory study utilized snowball sampling to interview ten participants. Data analysis revealed conceptualizations related to: lack of access and knowledge about programs and resources, lack of access to health and mental health services, lack of access and knowledge regarding rights and legal issues, DACA and AB 540, language barriers, and financial instability. This study emphasizes need for more research on the undocumented Latino population to further advance programs and interventions, by identifying needs within the community. Implications for social work practice and policy are discussed.
