Abstract
The study examined the perspectives of mental health professionals on Latinx population accessing mental health services. The study utilized a quantitative survey research design that included participants responding to Likert scale questions and multiple-choice questions to measure their perceptions on mental health service access by the Latinx population. Participants (N=32) were selected by utilizing convenience and snowball designs. The data analysis showed some associations between different elements of participants’ perspectives and demographics. Results showed one significant association between measures of how mental health professionals viewed mental health access given to Latinx members. There was an association between participants years of work at their agency and participants having received cultural competency training, with most participants stating that training was available at their job placements. Implications for social work practice and policy are discussed.
