Abstract
The aim of this study was to identify what personality traits are related to test anxiety. Previous research involving test anxiety has mainly focused on the traits of worry, the ruminations students have that affect them negatively during testing, and emotionality, the physical sensations one feels while taking a test. The few studies that have examined personality traits and test anxiety have mainly used the NEO-Five Factor Inventory (Costa & McCrae, 1992). The current study examines personality traits associated with test anxiety by using two measures, the Personality Research Form (Jackson, 1989), and the NEO- Five Factor Inventory (Costa & McCrae, 1992). In addition, this study evaluated test anxiety by using the Test Anxiety Inventory (Spielberger, 1980), and the Alpert-Haber Achievement Anxiety Inventory (Alpert & Haber, 1960). It was determined that the personality trait of neuroticism was the best predictor of test anxiety.
