Abstract
Workforce management is a complex and multifaceted area for any organization. Employees and workload is predictable but rules must be dynamic. Employees get sick, assets and utilities break, and unexpected high priority incidents can throw a conventional week into a reactionary mode. The Public Sector is an especially relevant example of this. When looking into the day-to-day operations of a local city or county department, a workforce manager has an important responsibility for public safety and citizen responsiveness. Unhandled water main bursts or missed restaurant inspections can lead to health outbreaks, news reports, and loss of money to a business. To mitigate this, supervisors need flexible and pertinent software to meet their needs. This project attempts to meet the needs of scheduling supervision and notification for various public sector departments. It will do so using a web based tool, spatial analysis and personal data management integration.
