Abstract
Pinky Gosrick's Wagon Chronicles is a novel-in-progress that wrangles with the complexities of
a female police officer's life. Pinky loves being a cop, but is over-committed to her work with
her actions sometimes bordering on excessive violence. However, she is not as in control of her
home life, where she struggles with an aloof husband, an at-risk marriage, and a young daughter
she has no idea how to connect with. The story follows Pinky through home and work life,
relying on disruptive language and rich imagery that shows her two worlds impacting one
another. As the story unfolds, Pinky has to make some choices about where to focus her attention
and how to deal with her own personal history of abandonment.
