Abstract
PCIe NVMe SSDs are becoming more common use of non-volatile memory storage system in computer and server platforms due to its high performance and low power consumption feature. These SSDs runs NVMe firmware to communicate with host (SoC/CPU) over PCIe and to manage the flash memories. In addition to that these SSDs runs customized firmware to meet customer specific requirements such as additional security/data encryption, higher load balancing performance, efficient data block management, better wear leveling etc.
NVMe SSD manufacturers are responsible for designing the memory card and developing the NVMe FW. In this project I will be demonstrating the validation methodology, E2E validation flow and coverage details of one of Intel’s (now Solidigm) NVMe SSD product with customized FW for a targeted customer. These are the key validation topic will be covered along with data analysis and reports. Any business confidential/IP data will not be shared as part of this demonstration.
