Abstract
This project determines eligibility and establishes a historic context for the nomination of the Tower Theater to the National Register of Historic Places. Sources of data include city building permits, county assessor records, newspapers, magazines, journals, and photographs, along with historical literature on theaters, cinema development, and architecture. This project finds the Tower Theater to be eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places at the local level of significance under Criterion C within the context of entertainment and theater development in Sacramento.
