Abstract
Using Placer County Museums and Archives (PCM) as an example, the project expounds upon the research and archival work I have done to assist PCM in rehousing and interpreting their Civil War Collection. Throughout this work, I conducted primary and secondary source research to put the collection in its context within Placer County in the Civil War Era. I also discuss museum education and interpretation, the potential for digitization as collaboration between small museums and small archives, the history of Placer County Museums, and the context of the Civil War in Placer County.
