Abstract
Setting out to interpret the world through a series of artworks can be a daunting task. On the surface it appears to be little more than a series of landscape paintings and still life sculptures. Yet, when one digs deeper and attempts to represent the depth and mystery of world in its entirety, the exercise seems futile. This thesis outlines a journey that starts with a childhood dream of creating, and comes full circle to realize that dream. Along the way, it becomes clear that the desire to create comes with challenges and oftentimes vague problems with difficult and, at times, counterintuitive solutions. With perseverance and a dose of humility, an artist can find that all he must do is trust his instinct, vision and heart. Oh, and work really hard in his studio.
