Abstract
Terrorist organizations promote their cause through violence by executing attacks that result in mass casualties. Recently, terrorist organizations started to encourage the lone wolf method. Due to the change in tactics, the difference in violence between the two groups is an important factor. The sample used for this study was global terrorism incidents between 2011 and 2014 obtained from the Global Terrorism Database. The results show that terrorist organizations are more violent than lone wolves except in the United States, where there were more lone wolf incidents than terrorist organization incidents.
