Abstract
The State of California is affected by the volume of trash found at various community sites such as streets, parks, schools, hospitals, etc. Litter Data Integration and Exchange System (LDIES) aims to contribute to litter reduction all over California by the end of 2030. The LDIES allows residents of California, Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems (MS4s), and citizen scientists to report, visualize, and analyze litter information.
This project encompasses a web dashboard that is built using ArcGIS Experience Builder. The web dashboard includes a map, table, list, button, filter, and chart widgets for data analysis and data visualization. All data is collected using ArcGIS Survey123 forms that includes three different options to upload and share data. ArcGIS Notebooks are utilized to write Python scripts to run automated scheduled tasks with ArcGIS Python API for each collected survey.
This project provides a web dashboard with essential components implemented for data analysis and data visualization. The web dashboard can be easily extended and modified to meet future requirements set by the United States Environmental Protection Agency’s Escaped Trash Assessment Protocol and other litter management programs in other state regulatory.
