Statement of Problem
Many students have trouble learning language art concepts and they lack intrinsic motivation. However, because students in first grade love to play, supplemental motivating activities need to be used in classrooms. This project provides the classroom teacher with information, materials, and support to implement supplemental language art activities to their Hough Mifllin program.
Sources of Data
The sources of information for this project include books, articles, studies and classroom teachers. Conclusions Reached
Using games and motivating activities in language arts curriculum as well as other curricular areas will motivate students to learn. Students that are motivated to learn concepts without any incentives increase their intrinsic motivation.
