Abstract
A local non-public school in Sacramento specializes in working with students with Emotional and Behavioral Disorders (EBD). In the last four years the size of the school has doubled, resulting in less educated and less experienced teachers and paraprofessionals to meet the demand. With the need for placements of students with EBD growing, and the opportunities for training and education of professionals in the field decreasing, there is a need for professional development trainings. It is crucial to provide teachers with researched-based behavior intervention strategies to help their students become successful in school and in their community. With a professional development in-service teachers and paraprofessionals will be more prepared and confident in helping students with EBD become more successful.
