Abstract
This project prepares a Historic Resources Evaluation Report (HRER) entitled Historical Resources Evaluation Report, SCR 1 Santa Cruz Capital Preventative Maintenance Project, Santa Cruz County, 05-SCR-1 PM 17.5-20.2, EA / Project ID: 05-1M110 / 05-1900-0067-0, Contract 06A2495, T.O. 32. The present author assisted in the creation of this HRER during the spring and summer of 2023 as an employee of JRP Historical Consulting of Davis, California. The City of Santa Cruz is one of several cities that commissioned a citywide historic context statement as part of its historic preservation planning, which allowed the author to use the architectural studies that comprised the HRER as a case study for assessing the efficacy of citywide historic context statements as tools for making the National Register more inclusive.
