Abstract
The English language learner (ELL) population continues to grow across the country, particularly in the sate of California. The influx of this student sector has impacted the higher education system at every level: community colleges, state colleges, universities and private institutions. This study focuses on identifying the academic success strategies of ELL students at a private institution in Northern California. The researcher used a mixed method approach to spotlight what resources the faculty and academic support staff and students are utilizing to support their success. Results indicated a strong reliance on peer interaction and on-campus support mechanisms.
